No
Test – No Testimony!
Consider it pure joy,
my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know
that the testing of your faith develops
perseverance.
James 1:2-3
Every
test that God allows into our lives is designed to move us closer to Him
and produce a testimony borne through experience that becomes a blessing
to others when shared.
As men there is a part of us that says, “I want to be in control”. It is for this reason that God uses the circumstances of our lives to remind us how little control we actually do have. We are expected to fulfill many roles and carry out a great deal of responsibilities, not to mention those we place on ourselves, but when we give control to God He becomes responsible for us. As I look back over my life and recall the moments when I truly turned to God, I remember with joy the peace that came through my decision. How good it is to have a God that is willing to accept our responsibilities.
Life is a process of living daily in a fallen world. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins giving us a way to have a relationship with Him; and, one day spend eternity with Him. To know God is to experience Him. God uses our experiences and the Bible to teach us about ourselves and Him. I don’t know about you, but I spend most of my time living my life as compared to reading the Bible. Therefore, I can conclude that most of my life lessons from God will be taught through my experiences as well as the test and challenges He sends my way. May He give all men the grace and faith necessary to embrace and endure each test and trial. Let’s believe and trust the wisdom of God. God is working to perfect us through each test that comes our way. As we relinquish control to Him, we can rest assured that we will become godly men because of them.
